Coordinator of Student Development, Student Affairs, Tahlequah CampusJOB SUMMARYThisposition provides educational programming and services for the Division ofStudent Affairs related to the general health, wellness, and development of NSUstudents. The coordinator is responsible for identifying, coordinating, andfacilitating programs or services that promote good decision making, healthylifestyles, and citizenship. This includes collaborating with studentleaders/groups, faculty, other NSU departments, and community organizations topromote the health, wellness, and development of NSU students. This position isresponsible for developing training and evaluation materials as needed. Inaddition, this position will assist with compliance efforts in immunizationrecords, other state and federal reports, and initiatives supporting firstgeneration students.DUTIESPlans and implements educational programming related to health, wellness, and development initiatives.Lead coordinator in Responsible Hawks programming for the division.Provides educational opportunities for students in the student conduct process.Presents educational programs and trainings to student groups such as resident assistants, athletic teams, Greek life, and other student organizations, or individuals upon request.Provides classroom presentations in regards to student health, wellness, and development topics upon request.Assists with compliance efforts related to student health and wellness laws and regulations.Assists with other divisional initiatives as needed.Must be able to maintain regular attendance.Assists with programmatic initiatives targeting first generation college students.Serves on University committees as needed.Some weekend/evening work is necessary, but typically planned in advance with supervisor.Some travel may be required.KNOWLEDGEREQUIRED BY THE POSITIONKnowledge of health and wellness topics including, but not limited to, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, sexual health, and hygiene.Knowledge of student development theories.Knowledge of community resources related to health and wellness.Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Knowledge of budget management standards.Skill in program planning and implementation.Ability to present information in front of large groups.Skill in decision making and problem solving.Skill in oral and written communication.MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONSKnowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for a minimum one to two years.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
