About the team and positionThe Safe & Secure Inventory Control Team leads our efforts to ensure our unit inventory is accounted for to help us change the way people buy and sell cars. This team works closely with our operational business partners to confirm receipt of our inventory, to track our inventory through a rigorous cycle count process, to monitor any exceptions, to ensure reconciliation is in place, and to coordinate any adjustments with our finance team. This team works collaboratively with various partners across Carvana to ensure we have consistent repeatable processes in place to provide a clear picture of where our inventory is across our 200+ locations. This team uses innovation and technology to ensure our processes are efficient. The Safe & Secure Inventory Control Team is an integral part of helping the Safe & Secure organization achieve our mission of optimizing operational risk to support Carvana fulfill key business objectives. What you'll be doingPerform review of and/or reconciliation process for vehicle loss (including vehicle losses resulting from fraud) cases. Review and effectively resolve inventory exceptions. Develop and leverage understanding of inventory accuracy/control systems, tools, processes, and reporting, as well as company sites/locations, and operating models to aid in the research, reconciliation and vehicle recovery processes. Use discernment and discretion to identify the appropriate resolution in both standard and unique scenarios, leveraging available resources, protocols, and precedents. Document statuses, findings, and/or progress clearly and concisely. Communicate timely, effectively, and professionally with all business partners and stakeholders. Maintain a consistent lens for continuous improvement, communicating obstacles or areas of opportunity to leadership. Effectively share knowledge of best practices, proper utilization of tools and reporting, adherence to standards, and provide a clear continuous improvement leadership philosophy. Maintain metric deliverables including but not limited to scan rates, critical tracking, unit loss rate, and financial reserves.Review and perform geofence updates.Perform other duties as assigned - responsibilities dependent on area of focus.
