Cultivate inquiry into the STEM arena to inquisitive minds. Organizes a set of activities that supports the recruitment and enrollment of high-quality STEM students, by providing structure to the K-12 involvement and outreach efforts and aligning those with the college's programs. Position InformationEssential Functions and Responsibilities: Provides input into assigned area's policies and procedures as it relates to completion of work and/or provision of services. Prepares reports and other information/documentation to assist the supervisor in strategic planning of the assigned area. Ensures the day-to-day functionality and assists administrators in the general oversight of the assigned area's operations and services as related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective. Directs and/or coordinates daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of a department's/division's overall programs and/or services. Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of the department's/division's overall goals and objectives. Prepares and maintains accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with the department's/division's (or University's) policies and procedures and assures timely communication with supervisor, staff, and students where appropriate. Gathers data and prepares reports and other information/documentation for supervisory review?related to the department's/division's programs and/or services, or one or more assigned components thereof.Performs other related duties as assigned and/or required. Serves as the STEM College contact and primary event, camps and program coordinator for events such as Penguin Preview Day, Experience Y Day, STEM Open House, STEM Showcase, School Field Trips, School Visits, YSU IGNITE, County/State Fairs, Silly Science Sunday, Summer Programming, and other events as related to STEM involvement. Interacts with the admissions/recruiting staff to ensure that students receive appropriate YSU information during outreach events, and their contact information is obtained and compiled for future communications. Serves as interface between STEM College and departmental contacts for other departmentally organized STEM outreach activities, such as MathCounts, Women in STEM, Lake to River Science Day, and other K-12 STEM events, including those conducted in cooperation with other Colleges.Represents STEM College to not only local schools, but also to high schools, middle schools, elementary schools and community groups outside of the area; provide college majors list and information to high school staff, students and parents. Promote student participation in College outreach events, and work with schools to ensure participation of underrepresented populations. Serves as primary contact for schools wanting to visit STEM or seeking STEM involvement in their classroom or school activity; coordinates set up and tear down of events as well as recruits' volunteers for the events.Provides direction and oversight of the College's social media efforts, monthly newsletter, and marketing materials/publications; Assist with social activities such as, STEM Nation; creates ideas for programming, edits and uploads videos, etc. Directs the College's activities by adding to the annual calendar of STEM events.
