JOB SUMMARY:
Procure product and services using assigned company purchase systems. Assist in writing contracts. Reconcile statements. Source materials and vendors, for competitive prices and unique plant specimens.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Procure products and services utilizing assigned company credit card. Reconcile purchase cards in SNAP. Create purchases requests in Maximo. Implement and draw upon blanket purchase orders. Write scopes of work/contracts. Process contracts through purchase manager in SNAP. Receive services and product as well as facilitate payment by providing AP with necessary documentation.
* Research new products, services, materials/heavy equipment leasing for use at Universal Orlando. Meet with representatives of various products and services to see if their goods will benefit Universal Orlando. Identify materials and services that are sustainable for our environment within Universal Orlando.
* Create DWO's for management. Monitor spending and ensure correct DWO's are managed correctly. Understand the assigned budgets and communicate with management.
* Receive and compile necessary documentation on Standard Operating Procedures from management. Verify documentation for approval.
* Contract grown materials for seasonal color/foliage and identifying specimen material for themed environments.
* Communicate and Coordinate resource needs and work plans to affected departments, management and crafts.
* Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
Plans, schedules, procures and oversees necessary resources for the successful execution of Horticulture related projects, and the sustainability of existing trees and shrubs.
EDUCATION:
* High school degree or GED is required.
* Associate's degree (AA) in Horticulture or equivalent from two-year College or technical school is preferred.
* Successful completion of 6 courses as listed below for Valencia Community College Horticulture Program or equivalent training is preferred:
HOS 1010 Introduction to Horticulture
ORH 1510 Ornamental Plant Materials I
ORH 1511 Ornamental Plant Materials II
SOS 2101 Soils and Fertilizers
ENY 1007 Principles of Entomology
BOT 2501 Plant Physiology
EXPERIENCE:
* One year of landscape maintenance experience is required.
* Five to seven years experience of landscape maintenance in upscale commercial, residential, or resort environment or other horticultural enterprise is preferred
* ; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
* Valid Florida Driver's License required.
* One of the following certifications is preferred: Florida Certified Nursery Professional or Florida Certified Landscape Technician, Landscape Maintenance Operator, Certified Arborist.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
* Good organizational skills and multitasking.
* Strong computer skills are required in Microsoft Excel 2010, Microsoft Word 2010, Microsoft PowerPoint and Maximo 7.
