Position Type: Support Staff/Hall Monitor Date Posted: 8/27/2024 Location: North Haven Middle School Date Available: 08/26/2024 Closing Date: when filled North Haven Public Schools North Haven, Connecticut 06473 North Haven Public Schools Position DescriptionPosition Title: North Haven Middle School Hallway Monitor School/Department: North Haven Middle School Reports to: Building Principal and/or Assistant Principal(s) Supervises: N/A Union Affiliation: None Work Year: 2024 - 2025 School Year, per agreement (NHEA) Summary:
  • Under the general supervision of the School Principal and/or Assistant Principal monitor student behavior in the school hallways and other common areas. Respectfully intervene for minor infractions and report all major infractions to the building administration and School Resource Officer. Total work hours per week not to exceed 35 hours
Education/Training Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to monitor and provide safety and security to students, faculty, staff, and all visitors, during the assigned hours of the school day.
  • Ability to check IDs, monitor hallways, and all entrances and exits to the school building.
  • Assist in escorting all visitors to appropriate locations within the building.
  • Attending and assisting during school events that take place during assigned daily hours.
  • Demonstrate effective and appropriate decision making.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Interpersonal Skills with both adults and middle school aged students
  • Ability to work and communicate collaboratively with teachers and building administration to support a positive school climate
