Job Opportunity: Corporate Accountant
Hybrid role in downtown Chicago, IL
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Corporate Accounting team within the Corporate Controller's Group. This position is responsible for assisting in the monthly general ledger close and consolidation process, as well as delivering financial reports for SEC and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for month-end close
- Analyze monthly financial results and prepare consolidated financial statements
- Assist in SEC and other regulatory reporting
- Manage specialized accounting areas, such as equity-based compensation
- Support complex multi-tier investment entity accounting
- Serve as a key contact for internal and external partners, providing clear communication of financial results
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of corporate or industry accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with PeopleSoft GL and Hyperion Finance Management (Trintech Certification a plus)
- Ability to manage complex accounting tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and solid documentation techniques
- Ability to collaborate across teams and explain financial results to non-technical stakeholders
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (MBA or advanced degree a plus)
- CPA certification strongly preferred
