This individual will play a key role in overseeing and managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and contributing to the organization's continued growth. The Accounting Manager will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain financial integrity while driving operational efficiencies.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Oversee and manage the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place and contribute to the company's SOX compliance efforts.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Participate in special projects as needed, such as system improvements, mergers and acquisitions, or process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required.
- Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, prior leadership preferred
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements (GAAP, SOX).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
