The Jack Link's Protein Snacks portfolio of brands includes, Jack Link's, Lorissa's Kitchen, BiFi, Peperami, Wild River, Golden Island and Country Fresh Meats.Job DescriptionJoin Jack Link's as a Corporate Accounting Staff Accountant to provide accounting and analytical support to the Director of Corporate Accounting, Corporate Accounting Manager and the accounting team. Specifically, you will:
- Perform a proactive accounting review of accruals to improve general ledger accuracy and backend processing efficiency.
- Assist in period, quarter and yearend close activities to include general ledger entries, analysis and account reconciliations.
- Calculate and post depreciation expense according to company policy and manage the accumulated depreciation schedule.
- Process asset additions, transfers, disposals, and retirements, including proper documentation and accounting entries.
- Perform intercompany elimination reviews, receivable and payable balancing, and adjusting entries.
- Assist Financial Reporting with accounting policies and procedures as needed to increase the completeness, accuracy, validity, and timeliness of accounting information.
- Assist Corporate Accounting in the preparation and analysis of various financial and operating reports for corporate management.
- Assist Corporate Accounting in the management, review and reporting of travel and entertainment expense processing utilizing Concur.
- Establish strong working relationships with subsidiary controllers and accounting staff to increase financial understanding and implement best practice.
- Assist with Accounting and Finance scenario testing for SAP ECC/S4 conversions and updates.
- Assist with yearend audits as needed.
- Maintain accurate, thorough and high-quality analytics data.
- Provide backup to other accounting positions.
QualificationsRequired Education:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance or related or equivalent experience.
Required Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting capacity.
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Must be able to self-manage and operate with minimal supervision and handle assignments that are complex and urgent in nature.
- Fully conversant in Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Excel.
- Possess strong communications skills.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Must thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred:
- Technical Enterprise Resource Planning system experience, SAP ECC/S4
- BPC and Concur experience
