Scope of PositionOur Client is looking for a Corporate Controller. The Corporate Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and will oversee finance and accounting operations of all the subsidiaries of the Combined Group. This role is charged with strategic and tactical leadership of treasury management, risk management, and will be heavily involved in M&A and greenfield activities. This individual will also work closely with the Director of FP&A, whom is also a direct report of the CFO. The Corporate Controller / VP Finance will oversee all financing, accounting and reporting activities, including leading all day-to-day finance operations and supervising a multi-location accounting team to achieve the Combined Group's growth and profitability goals.ResponsibilitiesFunctional / Technical Leadership
- Provide financial planning, sourcing and support in negotiation of financing matters. Contact with Lenders.
- Responsible for strategy and implementation of financial/management information systems solutions including consolidation of ERP Systems, and best practices to support Combined Group growth.
- Assist with strategic planning for the future growth of the business. Included would be development of each year's operation plan(s) with direct alignment to the strategic planning objectives for the business and management team. Responsible for the operation and improvement of accounting, and reporting systems including general accounting, cost accounting, analysis of operations and results, and financial reporting.
- Oversee the Combined Group's insurance, licensing, contracts and agreements, legal areas and activities, regulatory relationships and strategies, and risk management practices.
- Work with the CFO and financial partners in developing and implementing term and revolver loans, including Lender Reporting requirements.
- Engage in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Participate in strategic support for make/buy analysis and supplier/cost analysis.
- Assist operations' teams in the development and execution of working capital improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for asset management and reporting, budgeting support with FP&A, cost management, ROI analysis, financial reporting and various external financial and business affairs.
- Monitor expenditures, investigate significant variances, identify and implement corrective actions, and approve requests for the reallocation of funds within the parameters of the approve budget.
- Ensure accounting internal controls and procedures are followed to be in compliance with statutory, regulatory, and Ownership requirements.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance of financial functions an coordinate financial audits and filing of statutory tax returns, as well as proper asset tracking matters.
People Leadership
- Manage a group of professional employees, network of supporting talent agencies, contractors and vendors in support of the Combined Group.
- Evaluate, train, and develop high potential talent and lead organizational change and culture development through periodic reviews, regular coaching, and on-going feedback with employees.
- Professional personal development inside the Combined Group for future opportunities related to growth, strategy and future recapitalization plans
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will be a driven, energetic finance professional with a minimum of fifteen years of diverse and progressive experience with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. S/He will have experience with middle-market companies and have a manufacturing or distribution business background. Prior experience working with the fast pace of private equity ownership is also required.
- The successful candidate will have experience leading organizations through both fast organic growth as well as mergers & acquisitions growth. S/He will have worked with banking relationships and will also be proficient in Information Technology, and ERP systems with experience with risk management and supplier relations. Prior experience with ERP system implementations is critical.
- The ideal candidate will be able to affect change and improvement through strong strategic acumen, high intellect, and superior problem solving capabilities. Specific strengths in analytics, planning, forecasting, and budgeting are required. Experience with cost accounting systems is a must.
- Proven team leadership capability in developing managers and new leaders along with an approachable style are desired. The successful candidate will be confident, collaborative, and thrive on tackling the challenges created within a fast paced, high growth organization.

- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field is required. An MBA and/ or a CPA license is desirable; and prior experience working in public accounting is preferred.
