The group is responsible for all accounting, reporting, tax, treasury and shared services functions of a rapidly growing multi-entity, multi-industry business. You will have a unique opportunity to build out an accounting organization, work cross-functionally with business unit leaders, and become proficient in leading accounting guidance for today's latest technologies. The ideal candidate is a master in the discipline of accounting, an excellent communicator, and eager to build a process driven organization. This role will initially report to the Head of Finance. Responsibilities
    • Take ownership of the accounting, accounting policy, tax, payroll, treasury, and accounts payable functions.
    • Provide clear and concise communication to foster collaboration across departments and within the finance team.
    • Collaborate with the Head of Strategic Finance and other finance functions to drive cohesive financial strategies.
    • Successfully manage multi-business or global audits from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout the process.
    • Build a robust controllership foundation from the ground up, supporting and facilitating the expansion of the company.
    • Direct the accounting team in effectively utilizing the ERP tool (Sage) for consolidation, cost allocation across entities, department and business line reporting and tax reporting.
    • Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Lead the preparation and presentation of the monthly close package to key management teams
    • Collaborate with operational teams to integrate financial practices into daily business activities, including procurement, vendor management, and inventory control.
    • Ensure operational and capital expenditures align with budget and assist in cost management initiatives.
    • Provide financial forecasts and budgets to support business decision-making for senior leadership
    • Develop and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial processes
Ideal Background
    • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and control, with a focus on corporate finance
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA is highly desirable
    • Demonstrated leadership in financial reporting, finance tech stack and audit processes
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
    • Experience with integration of new products, new assets and new businesses preferred
    • Highly organized, process oriented at the same time, strives for efficiency and simplicity
    • Comfortable working in a hybrid role, with a presence in Manhattan four days a week
    • Effectively communicated complex financial information with multiple stakeholders
    • Previous experience in a technology-based, high growth, multi-business company a plus
