Job Description:

A law firm in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a Corporate Counsel Attorney with 5-10 years of experience to join their dynamic and growing team. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, benefit from mentorship by a Partner, and have the opportunity to build a book of business. The ideal candidate will be coachable, easy-going, a great team player with a quick wit, and possess excellent people skills. They should excel in writing and analytical tasks, be highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and maintain composure under pressure. Prior experience representing common interest developments is a plus.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on corporate and business matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
  • Develop and implement strategies for managing legal risks and compliance.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Work closely with a Partner for mentorship and professional development.
  • Build and maintain a book of business through client relationships and business development efforts.
  • Handle corporate governance, including advising on corporate structure, bylaws, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in corporate law, including experience in drafting and negotiating contracts and providing general corporate counsel.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.
  • Coachable, team-oriented, and possesses strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience representing common interest developments is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (California State Bar required).
