Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and versatile In-House Counsel to join our legal team. This role is ideal for an intermediate to seasoned attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a wide range of legal matters. As a generalist, you will provide comprehensive legal support across various functions of the company, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of issues, including contract negotiation and management, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, and vendor contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address potential legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to promote legal compliance and best practices.
  • Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal developments affecting the manufacturing industry.
  • Support the legal department in handling disputes, litigation, and other legal proceedings.
  • Assist General Counsel with Intellectual Property Portfolio management and act as liaison between outside counsel and internal business units for intellectual property matters.
  • Developing and conducting training to business units on relevant legal issues affecting their functional areas.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by General Counsel.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Juris doctorate degree (with strong academic credentials) from an ABA-accredited law school required.
  • Five or more years of broad-based legal experience in commercial legal matters at a law firm or in-house legal department required.
  • Member in good standing of Missouri Bar (or of another State bar and eligible for transfer to Missouri by UBE) required.

  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Strong interest in commercial transactions and contracting process.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Business acumen and ability to balance legal advice with business objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong follow through and follow-up
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
