Our client is a prestigious corporate entity in Midtown, seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Executive Chef to lead their Executive Kitchen team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to create innovative, high-quality meals for executives and senior management. As the Corporate Executive Chef, you will manage and provide leadership for the Sous Chef, Dining Coordinator, and Kitchen Assistant. You will be responsible for all food preparation and service, ensuring the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences using high-quality, seasonal ingredients. Your role will also involve maintaining vendor relationships, menu planning, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 per year
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Sous Chef, Dining Coordinator, and Kitchen Assistant
- Hold weekly meetings to review tasks, discuss service improvements, and plan for upcoming events
- Ensure all staff members are cross-trained to understand each kitchen role
- Oversee all food preparation and service from the Executive Kitchen team
- Plan and execute innovative daily menus with the Sous Chef, featuring high-quality, seasonal ingredients
- Provide meal service for executives, senior management, and their guests, including breakfast, lunch, beverages, and snacks
- Maintain vendor relationships for food supply and place all orders
- Source local and healthy poultry and produce, ensuring alignment with industry standards
- Develop standards for coffee products and manage relationships with coffee vendors
- Collaborate with the Conference Center Coordinator and Dining Coordinator for executive meeting requests
- Create menus for Board Meetings and special events, obtaining feedback from the executive team
- Operate within strict guidelines for food quality and freshness
- Maintain superior kitchen conditions, including cleanliness and equipment maintenance
- Serve as the liaison with the NYC Health Department to obtain superior inspection ratings
- Maintain thorough communication with the Executive Kitchen team via email and text
- Work with the Sous Chef and Kitchen Assistant to ensure effective communication and task execution
Required Qualifications:
- Culinary Arts education preferred.
- 5-7 years of previous culinary experience, preferably in a fine dining establishment
- Valid NYC Certificate in Food Protection
- Advanced understanding of professional cooking and knife-handling skills
- Strong comprehension of safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other Office applications
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of lifting 25 lbs and standing for 8 hours daily
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Superb teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships
- Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced business environment
- Ability to coordinate multiple workflows and simultaneous deliverables
