Job Description:

CASIO AMERICA INC. has an exiting opportunity for a Corporate Paralegal at our US Headquarters in Northern NJ. This role will liaise between the business stakeholders and outside counsel to address corporate legal matters and inquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include responding to issues in-house and utilizing outside counsel to address non-routine or recurring legal issues. Legal matters and inquiries generally arise in the following areas:

* E-commerce and Data Privacy

* Respond to issues relating to compliance with required disclosures on direct-to-consumer sales over the company's website (terms of sale, return policies), state privacy law requirements as to collection and use of website visitors' and consumers' personal data.

* Distribution

* Address inquiries regarding the amendment of contracts, affirmative collection, or other concerns relating to the legal obligations of the company's distributors and dealers.

* General Contracts

* Address inquiries related to the organization of contracts with the company's distributors and dealers as well as with vendors and other service providers.

* Antitrust Compliance

* Respond to inquiries typically related to the company's distribution of its products.

* Trademark Compliance and Checking

* Respond to the company's business line inquiries as to use of taglines and proposed trademarks to promote the company products (and consult with outside counsel as to related searches and address any potential infringement concerns).

* Social Media and Other Marketing Compliance

* Respond to and address business line inquiries as to truth in labeling and advertising issues, for example, required disclosure of paid social media influencers.

* Consumer Product Safety

* Advise the company's business lines as to Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) inquiries or, more typically, compliance with related laws, such as required labeling on or packaging of the company's products.

* Warranty

* Respond to inquiries related to the application and regulatory compliance of the company's warranties and coverage of its products.

* Medical Products' Compliance

* Coordinate advice regarding compliance with FDA labeling, marketing, and other regulatory requirements related to the company's products.

* Responding to Other Product-Specific Issues:

* i.e., data protection and marketing concerns for minors as well as copyright and licensing issues.

* Customs and CTPAT Compliance

* Ensure compliance with US customs regulations (and occasionally cooperation with audits) related to foreign manufacture and the company's importation of its products from its parent company and designated third-party suppliers.

* General Employment

* Address legal issues referred from the company's Human Resources department, for example, accommodation of employee requests or visa issues for ex-pat employees from its parent company.

* Webinar Training

* Oversight of legal training (as to cybersecurity or employment issues, for example) conducted by outside counsel for the company's employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* At least 7-10 years of experience as a Corporate Paralegal as well as Paralegal Certification

* Excellent client facing skills and ability to build and maintain stakeholder and attorney relationships

* Highly adaptable to changing client needs

* Strong communication and problem resolution skills

* Highly detail-orientated with excellent organizational skills

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
