  • Lead and manage all aspects of the payroll function including the processing of monthly, bi-weekly and weekly payrolls.
  • Ensure all payroll processes are compliant with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Oversee and manage payroll staff, providing guidance, training and motivation to ensure a high-performance team.
  • Develop and implement payroll procedures and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Process payroll adjustments, including benefits, payroll taxes, employee compensation, garnishments, etc.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to align and reconcile payroll data.
  • Manage relationships with payroll vendors and ensure services are provided as expected.
  • Review and analyze current payroll procedures to recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on payroll issues and trends.
  • Stay updated on new legislation impacting payroll and communicate changes to the relevant departments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll management role, preferably within the energy sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to payroll.
  • Proficiency in payroll software, along with strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred but not required.
