We're on the hunt for an epic human to join our Virgin Voyage's People Team (Human Resources) as our fabulous and newest Contract Recruiter (Land & Sea Gigs) -- the fresh, fancy, and totally Virgin version of the classic Recruiter. This position is pivotal in supporting our growth trajectory and ensuring that our Recruitment practices remain robust and responsive to organizational needs both on land at VVHQ and on the high seas aboard our lavish Lady Ships.

The Recruiter Land & Sea Gigs is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the shoreside and shipboard organization. This will be achieved through the development of local, national and international recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. Our Recruiter - Land & Sea Gigs plays a pivotal role in growing our Land & Sea Crew. They will ensure that we are sourcing & hiring the best crew at land & sea!

What You'll Be Up To:

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with department managers to discuss needs.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting outside recruiting firms, employment agencies, community services, colleges, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites.
  • Reviews applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Partners with hiring management to coordinate schedules for interviews; arranges travel and lodging if necessary; act as a liaison between applicant and hiring manager during the interview process.
  • Manages new employee relocation, if applicable, by determining new employee requirements.
  • Create new hire packages and ensure all pre-employment requirements and background checks are completed prior to the first day of work.
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; continued education regarding best practices related to employment and labor law; partnering with department managers to review regulations; recommending new procedures and conducting training if necessary.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Expand the Virgin Voyages recruitment brand by establishing a presence at key global recruitment fairs and events.
  • Coordinate social media recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain reporting and communication back to business and senior leadership team on status of recruitment, both ship and shore
  • Partner with Recruitment Hiring Partners to ensure all shipboard recruitment needs are being met
  • Extend employment offers both ship and shore, helping to ensure the team stays within budget
  • Assist with confidential recruitment
  • Other duties as assigned

SuperPowers Required:

  • Bachelors degree preferred in related field or equivalent work
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of high volume Human Resources Recruiting experience, preferably in a start-up environment
  • Experience recruiting in hospitality industry preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience of working with an ATS -- Workday is a bonus!
  • Superior analytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions
  • Strong ability to attract and retain talent and work with a motivate high performance teams
  • Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills, as well as proved organizational skills
  • Effective negotiating skills
  • Ability to understand the technology industry and keep abreast of technology trends.
  • Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter and other recruiting tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws as it applies to ADA, ADEA, EEO and Affirmative Action, FLSA, etc.
  • Cruise Line experience is a plus!
