Job Description:
Corporate Service DirectorResponsibilities The Corporate Service Director is responsible for monitoring and communicating Modern's requirements for service operations personnel, productivity, profits and Customer Satisfaction to the dealership personnel. This individual is tasked with recruiting, and training, when necessary, service management personnel for the dealerships. He or she is also responsible for supervising dealership management in areas pertinent to manufacturer and dealership goals and procedures. In addition, this individual is responsible for ensuring the General Manager is aware of critical issues, process changes and other needs as well as establishing thorough communication with the GM after each store visit. The position also requires the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with Modern Management at all levels, dealership management and personnel, as well as members of his/her team. The Corporate Service Director visits the dealerships and departments on a routine schedule.
  • Assure that dealership service management is focused on achieving the departmental goals set by Modern, the GM, and the EDO.
  • Monitor and instruct that all dealership activities are performed according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures
  • Assist dealership service management in forecasting goals and objectives for personnel, expenses, sales and profits and process implementation.
  • Monitor that dealerships are operating within the Customer Satisfaction Index ratings set by Modern and the Manufacturer
  • Make recommendations to the service manager, the general manager and the EDO as well as ownership.
  • Actively encourages the recruitment of dealership management candidates from internal and external sources
  • Assist dealership service operations in implementing and consistently performing accepted processes as determined by Modern, dealership management and the manufacturer
  • Monitor that receivable schedules are current and metrics are within Modern guidelines for each dealership and notify all parties when concerns are discovered.
  • Ensure that reporting systems required by general management, Modern and the manufacturer are maintained
  • Hold Service Managers meetings on a quarterly basis
  • Monitor all warranty operations for factory compliance, plus timely and accurate claim filing. Conduct routine spot audits and communicate the results with the GM, EDO, and ownership.
  • Regularly review the pricing policies of the service operations for competitiveness and profitability
  • Work with dealership General Management to assist in all segments of service operations personnel, processes and profitability ensuring that there is a follow up meeting after each service visit.
  • Work effectively in cooperation with the Corporate Parts Director and Collision Director
  • Work with the General Manager to establish regular, periodic performance evaluations with dealership service management, monitor that dealership management is evaluating staff according to Modern guidelines
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years experience as a Service Manager or 5 years experience as a Service Director over multiple brands.
  • Proficient computer skills, including CDK.
  • The ability to increase revenue and profit in a busy service center.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and managerial skills
  • Must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a great work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to work an extended hours schedule, including weekends when needed.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, MVR, and drug screen.
