$20.37 - $28.51 Hourly$42,365 - $59,311 AnnuallyThis position is a Pay Band CBPosting DetailsInterviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $25.18 per hour. Why does the job exist?This position will be responsible for all laundry functions within a prison. How does it get done?* Issue linens, clothing, pillows and mattresses to inmates. * Supervise inmates during laundering of linens and clothing by supervising proper cleaning and sanitation methods of all items. * Inventory all linens, clothing, pillow and mattresses and check in all shipments of new items. * Maintain preventive maintenance on all equipment and submit work orders for those in need of repair per manufacturer recommendations. Substitution TableThese combinations of education and experience qualify you for the position: Education Experience 1 High School Diploma or Equivalent AND # of months or years of experience specified in the minimum qualification 2 Associate's Degree AND Zero years of experience •Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position. •If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of semester hours in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.Employment RequirementsThis position is safety sensitive. Employment is subject to a pre-employment and random drug testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state rules and regulations regarding alcohol and/or drug testing. In addition, candidates must pass pre-employment Academy screening. Successful completion of the New Mexico Corrections Academy within one (1) year of hire is required. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, must be at least 18 years old, have a least a high school education or its equivalent, be of good moral character, have not been convicted of a felony in the courts of this or any state or in the federal courts, and successfully pass any physical and aptitude examination the department may require. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates.
