Responsibilities may include: providing information to the public regarding Detention Center operations, court and inmates services; assist the Booking section with recording inmate data into the Jail Management System and completes required documentation; monitoring cameras and video surveillance equipment; controls opening and closures of electronic security doors; maintains and prepares reports, logs and records; maintains reports of all incidents; conducts population counts; answering phones; filing and copying a variety of materials; entering, sorting and verifying data; and related activities. Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS• Performs routine administrative support duties, which include: screening incoming calls; taking and transmitting messages; greeting visitors; entering data; maintaining logs; making photocopies; and faxing documents.• Responds to requests for information from the general public, staff, and/or other interested parties; answers routing questions; directs callers/visitors to appropriate locations; dispatches work orders.• Prepares, reviews, processes, and distributes a variety of routing correspondence, reports, information, paperwork, forms, or other related information in assigned area of responsibility; maintains records and database.• Files documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed methods.• Logs and tracks all Incident and Disciplinary Reports.• Notify emergency response personnel during emergency codes.• Maintains radio communications with officers and contract personnel.• Monitors cameras and video surveillance equipment.• Controls opening and closure of all security doors in emergency situations.• Assists with duties as Lobby, Booking, Central Control and Classification Support Personnel.• Performs other related duties of a similar nature or level. Typical Qualifications Minimum Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of clerical, secretarial, or related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver's license.
