The Miami Correctional Facility is a maximum security Correctional facility for adult males located in Bunker Hill, Indiana.Role Overview:As a Correctional Training Officer, you will be responsible for implementation or assistance with all staff development programs, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of each program. You must act as a positive role model in the use of language, demeanor, behavior, and dress for all employees as a representative of the Department. You will work under general supervision, following laws, rules regulations, guidelines, and policies. You will work with the facility Training Committee and recommend changes in existing programs, which may affect total agency operation and hiring processes.Salary Statement:The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:Conduct and assist in new employee, annual, and on-the-job training for all staff.Assist in the development of training curricula to meet specific performance objectives.Test, measure, and evaluate trainee performance based on established standards.Assist supervisor to ensure that all training programs, procedures, methods, and standards are in compliance with established standards.Maintain a variety of training records, course information, and prepare written reports.The job profile is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
