- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in forklift operation.
- Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities.
- Develop and prepare supplemental materials to enhance lesson plans.
- Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance.
- Provide classroom demonstrations on various equipment.
- Supervise students while performing hands-on activities on forklifts.
- Oversee and instruct students on forklift simulator.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance; maintain other records according to program needs or accreditation requirements.
- Conduct ongoing surveillance of assigned work area to ensure proper security, sanitation and safety practices.
- Must be at ease working in a correctional setting with inmates, flexible, organized with attention to details, assertive, and possess excellent communication skills.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at a post-secondary level.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand periodically for 45- minute to 1-hour intervals.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 30 pounds.
