The Senior Cost Accountant is to provide support to the Cost Accounting Manager - North America by performing various month-end procedures and reporting as needed throughout the month.
Included within this role will be to review and maintain the standard costs CSI Domestic Inventory, management of projects to confirm current standards as well as ensuring ERP data and master records are kept up to date. In addition, the Cost Accountant will be an integral part of the wider Finance team, supporting the month end and budgeting process as required and undertaking ad hoc work when needed.

* Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and analysis related to areas such as Capitalized Variance, PPV, In-Transit, Freight, etc.
* Ability to perform detailed research and analysis of the transactions for variances across various ERP systems
* Proactive investigation of manufacturing variances including earned machine and labor hour absorption, scrap, capitalized variances, PPV and E&O inventory.
* Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
* Assist in documentation of domestic processes/policy design, development of procedure manuals and standard operating procedures
* Prepare and review obsolete inventory analysis
* Lead finance oversight of physical inventories.
* Partner with supply chain to improve cycle count results through root cause analysis. Proactive monitoring of inventory and research of issues.
* Document and implement the yearly cycle count procedures
* Strong knowledge of bill of material and routings in a standard cost system.
* Strong knowledge of US GAAP and generally accepted accounting policies
* Expert skills in Excel spreadsheet (i.e. Pivot tables, v Lookup, SUMIF and other Excel functions) and competence with other Microsoft Office applications
* Key contributor to ERP upgrades and improvements
* Collaboration across departments within a fast-paced environment
* Demonstrated ability to partner with functional leaders toward a common goal of achieving business objectives
* Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key drivers of financial performance, particularly in a manufacturing environment
* Self-starter and confident ability to influence a continuous improvement culture
* Perform additional duties as requested by management
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
* Travel less than 15% domestically
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* 2+ years of accounting experience required.
* Previous manufacturing industry experience preferred.
* MBA / CPA license preferred but not required
* Experience with ERP Systems, ie. Microsoft D365, SAP or Oracle
* Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products to include Excel, Word, Outlook
* High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills
* Strong skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Highly detail oriented
* Ability to work cross functionally in order to achieve desired results
* Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional skepticism
