Job Summary:
The Cost Control Analyst supports the field operations of PoolCorp and the financial management team, reporting to the Senior Director of FP&A. This position assists in effectively managing vendors and controlling indirect costs through analysis of spend patterns, evaluation of vendor programs, and implementation of new procurement strategies. The position collaborates with Sales Centers and business leaders to understand operational needs and identifying vendors and vendor programs to assist with meeting business requirements while managing expenses and positively impacting financial results.
Responsibilities:
* Prepares regular analysis of spending by sales/cost center, vendor, and category
* Analyzes spend against plan and historical patterns to identify and explain variances as well as evaluate improvement opportunities and cost-saving strategies
* Works with vendors to analyze procurement programs and provide recommendations on most efficient arrangements and alternatives
* Conducts market research to understand industry performance and competitor costs
* Manages invoices, contracts, and provisioning for significant company procurement programs
* Prepares analysis and reporting to ensure vendor contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters
* Develops and maintains a variety of internal and external reports and queries; analyzes and verifies reports for accuracy and activity before publishing
* Leverages technology to improve processes, reporting, and analysis
* Supports month-end close cycle and special projects as requested
* Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
* 1-3 years of experience in a business-related field.
* Advanced knowledge of Excel, data query and reporting tools.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
