It's More Than a Job, it's a Career - YouTube Caterpillar is seeking a Cost Reduction Project Lead in North Little Rock, AR. In this role, you will be tasked with defining and driving cost improvements for the Medium Wheel Product lines while maintaining product excellence. The incumbent will work closely with various MWP systems teams and the North Little Rock (NLR) Factory to understand, articulate and provide recommendations on sourcing, design and manufacturing changes that will achieve the best cost. What you can look forward to in this role:
  • Work as liaison for NLR Facility, building relationships with the factory teams to help them focus on cost reduction.
  • Work closely with MWP system teams to understand cost challenges and design changes for both NPI and current production and how they will impact machine costs
  • Generate cost ideas, collaborating with extended organizations including parts and aftermarket and provide support at both strategic and tactical levels

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools (Microsoft Power BI, Automation Techniques, Excel, etc), techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience within Engineering, Engineering Management, Project Management, Accounting or Business functions.
  • Engineering, business, accounting or project management experience
  • Experience within data and cost analysis.
  • Experience in LEAN principles and practices
  • Experience in product cost or cost management/analysis
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential to develop a cooperative working relationship with others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills
