Job Description:We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide in-home occupational therapy services to our patients. This role requires a compassionate professional who can effectively administer therapy plans designed by the Occupational Therapist to improve patients' functional abilities.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct home visits to administer occupational therapy interventions as prescribed by a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Assist patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) by teaching techniques to improve their functional capabilities.
- Monitor patient progress and maintain detailed reports of each visit.
- Adjust specific therapeutic interventions to meet the needs and progress of the patient, under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on safe and effective ways to cope with limitations in daily activities.
- Comply with all documentation and regulatory requirements set by Medicare and other regulatory bodies.
- Communicate effectively with the Occupational Therapist, the healthcare team, the patient, and their family to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current COTA license in Florida.
- Minimum of one year experience in home health, long-term care, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to perform home visits.
