If not already certified by SC Share as a Peer Support Specialist, must attend mandatory training and certification requirements.Under supervision of the Mobile Crisis Supervisor, works as a member of the Mobile Crisis team and provides peer support services to individuals in the community. Serves as a role model of recovery. Promotes recovery and community crisis stabilization in community settings. Provides post-crisis follow up for individuals who received services from Mobile Crisis. 1. Serves as a co-responder on the Mobile Crisis team and provides support to individuals during assessment, assists in engaging the individual in crisis in the least restrictive services to meet their needs to avoid unnecessary hospitalization and arrest. 2. Provides post-crisis follow-up contacts with individuals/families receiving Mobile Crisis services to ensure engagement in treatment services during their shift and under the support of the MC Supervisor. 3. Provides crisis preventative services through outreach and recovery support to individuals identified as high risk by local mental health center. 4. Promotes community engagement with community supports for high-risk individuals to address psychosocial needs. 5. Completes all DMH required trainings and those required to obtain and maintain certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Requirement: A high school diploma and relevant human services or social services experience.
