This position plays a critical role in serving the citizens of Charleston County seeking recovery from substance use disorders. Services include both individual and group counseling as well as case management. Counselor opportunities exist amongst numerous treatment areas including admissions, outpatient (adults and/or adolescents), residential, withdrawal management, and medication assisted treatment. Flexible work schedules are available in some instances and include potential remote work opportunities and/or four 10-hour days. Room for professional growth within the position including paid training opportunities, supervision hours toward obtaining an Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification, and engagement in interdisciplinary team meetings. Supervision may also be available for LPC, LAC or LISW licensing purposes at no cost (limited availability). HIRING HOURLY: $21.66 - $27.17Starting salary is dependent upon education, experience, credentialing, and licensure. 1y-3y experience with Master's Degree = $21.66 hourly (3y-5y with Bachelor's Degree) 3y-5y with a Master's Degree = $24.25 hourly (5y+ with a Bachelor's Degree)5y+ Master's Degree required = $27.17 hourly Licensure and current Alcohol and other Drug Counselor certification will also be taken into consideration for additional percentage increases. Employees are subject to receive annual increases beginning after the first year of employment, contingent upon satisfactory appraisals and available funding.Continuation of employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding from service, program and agency earnings. OPEN UNTIL FILLED - APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS IMMEDIATELY Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties: Clinical Counseling duties include, but are not limited to:
- Clinical assessment of clients.
- Development of individualized treatment plans and documentation of clinical services.
- Providing individual and group services.
- Coordination of care with internal and/or external resources.
- Providing community education presentations.
- Utilizing an electronic medical records system to maintain clinical records within applicable regulations and standards.
- Maintaining contact with client referral sources.
- Meeting clinical productivity requirements.
- Delivering services within agency, federal, state, UCR and DHEC guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, with a minimum of 1 year or more of experience in counseling or case management; or a Bachelor's Degree in the same fields supplemented with at least 3 years of experience in counseling or case management.
- The selected candidate must obtain the APSC Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) within 3 years of hire.
- Knowledge of several practiced therapies and counseling techniques, particularly those that are evidenced based.
- Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and computer skills.
- A valid SC driver's license.
- Master's Degree and current ADC credential preferred. Spanish Speaking candidates highly desired.
