JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for the provision of chemical dependency treatment to men and women in the Siena Francis Miracles Treatment Program. This position serves under the direction of the Program Manager and includes conducting individual and group therapeutic sessions, lectures, clinical reviews and treatment team staffing's.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Knowledge of addiction and provides individual and group counseling to men and women in the Miracles Treatment Program
- Utilize a strength based and trauma-informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and other treatment team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery
- Monitor client's access and involvement with treatment and other programming to help address barriers to treatment and recovery
- Complete documentation and maintain quality, up-to-date clinical records; enter necessary information into Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
- Conducts chemical dependency assessments and evaluations
- Conducts lectures and leads classroom discussions
- Collect information from collateral resources to aid in determining need for treatment and services
- Assists in the implementation of policy and procedures of the Miracles Treatment Program
- Assists in the collection of usable information in order to apply and sustain grant funding
- Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations and city, state and federal standards
- Comply with the State of Nebraska Licensing standards
- Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development and training as required
- Consult with Program manager as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum requirement is an Associate's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Nebraska Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) or Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP)
- Experience working in the areas of substance abuse
- Ability to implement treatment and educational programs
- Ability to incorporate diversity and culturally sensitivity to programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic working knowledge of Windows (MSWord, Excel and publisher). Good working knowledge of e-mail and Internet
- Positive attitude; energetic; dedicated to helping the homeless and/or chemically dependent
