One (1) vacant positionThe Admission Counselor is responsible for assisting with the development of and implementation of the University's student recruitment and admission strategy. The Admission Counselor identifies prospective students, provides follow-up, reviews admission applications and other admission documents, and admits eligible students in accordance with university policies and procedures.Essential Job Duties
- Provide initial contact with admission applicants
- Provide input into the development and implementation of the university's student recruitment strategy
- Develop and maintain contacts with high school counselors, alumni, and other constituents who may assist with recruitment
- Provide technical/clerical support for the implementation of' applicant contact and follow-up system
- Assist in the development and implementation of the recruiting schedule
- Develop and accomplish annual recruitment objectives
- Counsel applicants regarding admission requirements and the admission process and procedures
- Manage a specific geographical recruitment territory
- Assist in the review of all applications for admission and admitting eligible applicants
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven record of working collaboratively with staff and internal and external customers
Physical Demands
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to walk short distances
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
- Ability to prepare and analyzing data and figures
- Ability to view a computer terminal; extensive reading
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds
