Elementary Counselor Substitutes will assist Elementary Building Counselors with school counseling duties to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students.Job Descriptions are included in our District Personnel Policies which are posted on our website here. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support to students in individual or small group settings under the direction of the building counselor. Assist with implementing school-wide social-emotional learning programs. Support the building counselor with student assessments, data collection, and record-keeping. Help mediate student conflicts and facilitate restorative practices as needed. Assist in the development and delivery of classroom guidance lessons on topics such as bullying prevention, career exploration, and emotional regulation. Support efforts to connect students and families with community resources or services. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to address student needs and support positive outcomes. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school district policies and ethical guidelines for school counselors.EXPERIENCE: This role is an excellent opportunity to provide meaningful support to students and gain valuable experience in school counseling.Compensation is based on district substitute pay guidelines.QUALIFICATIONS: Earned or near completion of a bachelor's degree in counseling. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of child development and best practices in school counseling.
