The Counselor Supervisor (Administrator on Duty) is 40-houra week, full-time, permanent position.Education: Minimum of a HS diploma required w/ 2-years of prior experience working with youth with supervisory duties, preferably in child welfare; Some college preferred.*The position requires a valid NYS drivers license in good standingQualifications: Individual must be trained and well versed in the TCI/SCM/MYSI/program specific training; Experience managing behavior with a strong knowledge of programming. Strong communication/ documentation skills.Overview: The Counselor Supervisor/AOD is accountable for the physical/emotional safety of the environment while on duty. The individual is accountable for the overall safety and compliance with agency procedures, ensuring compliance to ACS/OCFS/other partner processes. Moreover, the Counselor Supervisor must be physically prepared to remove contraband/ other inappropriate or dangerous materials from all residents returning to the agency. Additionally, the individual is responsible for leading the staff/resident teams utilizing the Tuckman model of supervision along with any/all other program specific standards/ protocols (Eyes on, Ears on, Heart on) at all times. Depending on shift, the Counselor Supervisor is responsible for supporting safe movement of the resident/staff team to and from school or other locations.
