Job Summary: The Counter Sales Associate/CDL Relief Driver will act as a Sales Associate for the retail store by selling products to businesses and industrial customers. - Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to customers.
- Stocking Shelves
- Assisting customers through email, telephone, and walk-ins.
- Solicit sales from new and existing customers, managing associated paperwork for future reference.
- Coordinate cylinder and hardgoods deliveries, maintain showroom displays.
- Assist customers with loading/unloading cylinders, provide guidance on equipment use and needed materials.
- Foster strong customer relations, addressing inquiries and providing cost/ordering/delivery information.
- Monitor and maintain proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to minimize emergencies.
- Manage accounts receivable, discussing past-due accounts and collecting payments.
- Ensure accurate completion of paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhere to safety and administrative procedures.
- Periodically deliver products to various business, industrial, and medical gas customers.
- Act as Backup Driver when necessary.
- Operate equipment like forklifts as required.
- Support inventory management, housekeeping, displays, and demonstrations.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of Customer Service or Sales experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Prior knowledge of welding is preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL license.
- Must have the hazmat endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 60 days of being hired.
- Industry experience or related product knowledge as well as experience handling compressed gasses preferred
- Computer experience or basic knowledge in computer order entry system.
- Capable of routinely lifting 25-75 lbs. and occasionally lifting over 100 lbs. Also required to push and pull liquid containers weighing up to 1000 pounds.
- While on deliveries, the employee will regularly stand, walk, and sit. They will use their hands for deliveries, involving handling and feeling items. Additionally, they will reach, talk, and hear while interacting with customers, and be alert to the smell of leaking gas from cylinders.
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions are integral.
- Occasionally, the employee will engage in activities like climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and fine motor tasks such as tightening ratchet binders.
- This role requires specific visual capabilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
