This position will provide intensive social work services for the protection, reunification efforts, and care of children and their families that qualify as Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA); perform highly critical and culturally appropriate social work assessments on child protection services cases. Exercise a very high level of independent decision-making and problem-solving skills while meeting Federal and State requirements for ICWA cases. Work positively in a team environment, function constructively during conflict resolution and be positive and proactive when problem solving. Work may involve non-traditional hours and work sites. Minimum QualificationsMN Merit System Minimum Qualifications:•A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field.or•A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one (1) year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.You may apply before graduating, but no more than 60 days prior to receiving your Bachelor's Degree.Carlton County Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Social Work, Sociology or related field.
- One (1) year professional work experience.Additional experience in counseling, social work, chemical dependency or child protection preferred.
Note:
- Selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal background study.
Training Required:
- Ongoing Child Protection Services training to include forty (40) CEUs every two (2) years.
Certificates/Licenses Required:
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
