DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Casework Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing casework supervisory services to children and families to help them attain a more satisfactory social, economic, emotional, or physical adjustment. Work includes supervising and training a small group of caseworkers, trainees and social service aides, in addition to carrying a caseload. Your duties involves management of all social casework activities including the planning, delivery, and evaluation of services, quality assurance, case records maintenance, and limited elements of personnel administration. Additional responsibilities include:
- Investigating Child Abuse and Neglect referrals. This consists of consulting with caseworkers, gathering information, submitting outcomes, and completing reports of assessment for abuse and neglect.
- Providing consultations and monitoring family's services with caseworkers. This involves determining which referrals are necessary for services, reviewing reports, participating in team meetings, completing child placement visits, and any other activities to ensure child safety, well-being, and permanency.
- Attending court hearings, ensuring completion of court reports, and preparing caseworkers for testimony
- Entering family information into database
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Flexibility in work schedule is often required since appointments may be outside of the standard Monday through Friday workday of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. that can include weekends.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, Jefferson, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
