Job Description:

Assists the County Judge in the overall management of the department, the preparation and maintenance of the budget and records, and the supervision of office operations.

Acts as the primary contact person for the office, to include receiving telephone calls and inquiries which may includeservice questions, appointments, scheduled meetings or presentations, or general operations gathering information from callers, researching questions and issues, and providing information or data to the Judge or other staff members to facilitate appropriate responses.Manages all departmental records to ensure full documentation of activities and integrity of information.Maintains calendars, tracks deadlines, makes travel arrangements, processes expenses, coordinates department functions, interacts with departments and outside agencies with program details and maintains tracking system for projects and events.Prepares and manages the department budget to ensure adequate funding for service commitments and other operational requirements. Keeps County Judge informed of the status of projects and other assignments to control workflow and more accurately forecast departmental needs.Supervises time and attendance reporting and other human resource functions for the office. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, or in a job related field of study. No experience required.

Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.

Standard office environment. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift files, boxes, and other materials up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
