Court Clerk & Income Tax Clerk Job DESCRIPTIONSMayor's Court ClerkSummary: Assists with managing the Mayor's Court, which handles minor offenses such as traffic violations, misdemeanors, and other local ordinance infractions.Key responsibilities include:

  • Court Administration: Organizing court dockets, setting court dates, and notifying involved parties. Ensuring the court's smooth operation and proper documentation.
  • Record Keeping: Managing all court-related records, including case files, court judgments, and fines collected.
  • Customer Service: Serving as a point of contact for the public regarding court processes, answering questions, and providing information about court proceedings.
  • Collections and Payments: Collecting fines, fees, and bond payments, and ensuring funds are deposited correctly. Work with fiscal officer to track and report collections.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with state reporting requirements and submitting records to appropriate state agencies, like the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Income Tax ClerkSummary: Handles village tax administration, working closely with residents, businesses, and other municipal departments to manage income tax collections.Responsibilities include:

  • Tax Processing and Filing: Assisting residents and businesses with filing local income tax forms, verifying filings, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
