- The purpose of this class is to coordinate the operations of the County Court.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintains and coordinates the court's daily docket and scheduling.
- Conducts status conferences, dispositions and disposition conferences in criminal cases.
- Schedules pleas, motions to suppress, motions for discovery, motions to revoke probation, punishment hearings, and bond reduction hearings.
- Appoints attorneys for indigent defendants and monitors those defendants that waive appointment for counsel.
- Prepares bond dockets for defendants out on bond.
- Prepares criminal trial docket according to jail and bond cases.
- Schedules Administrative Hearings.
- Addresses defendant jail mail; resolves or directs to appropriate department of person.
- Orders jury panel for all cases; makes transportation and meal arrangements.
- Participates in and schedules status and pre-trial conferences.
- Schedules minor settlement hearings, trials before the court, discovery motions, motions to compel, and motions for sanction.
- Appoints Ad Litem in civil cases.
- Prepares civil trial docket.
- Runs monthly reports of pending civil and criminal cases.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor's degree.
- Requires two years of experience in court administration, legal assistance or closely related experience.
