Benefits to You

* We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees, including mental health coverage.

Roseburg, Douglas County's seat, is centrally located in the center of the county and is joined by surrounding communities, such as: Canyonville, Elkton, Myrtle Creek, Reedsport, Winston, just to name a few.

Position Highlights

The Douglas County Circuit Court in Roseburg, Oregon, is hiring a Court Operations Specialist.

In this role, you will provide moderate-to-complex administrative support for our court by processing circuit court cases, which includes reviewing, accepting, and rejecting filings. You will perform extensive data entry by entering new cases and pleadings into the court's case management system. You will update case and party information as needed. You will also scan documents, schedule hearings, track due dates, and disburse funds.

Additionally, you will provide customer service by responding to questions from the public, litigants, attorneys, court staff, judicial officers, and judicial partners about document entry, case processing, scheduling, the status of cases, and other related matters. The support you provide will be in person, over the phone, and in writing.

Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

AND

Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position.

OR

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Requested Skills and Attributes

* Experience providing direct administrative support to one or more persons.

* Experience using a computer for data entry, scheduling, and managing and maintaining records; this experience should be within the past five years.

* Experience maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions or distracting surroundings.

* Skill reviewing documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation.

* Experience identifying, handling, and securing confidential information and materials.

* Experience working in a court or legal environment is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions

* This is a full-time position, and the work schedule is currently 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.

* Occasional after-hours or overtime work may be required.

* Occasional travel to attend meetings may be required.

* Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.

* Frequent phone and in-person contact with people who may be facing challenging life circumstances, highly stressful situations, or trauma.

* Long periods of sitting or standing while processing a high volume of work.

* Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
