Job Title: Courtesy ClerkDepartment: Front EndReports to: Front End ManagerStarting rate of pay: $14.75/hr Company Benefits: • Flexible Hours• Employee Discount• 10 Paid Holidays• (including 2 days for your birthday)*• Medical/Vision/Dental Package*• Free Life Insurance*• Vacation and Sick Leave*• Voluntary Insurance Plans (Life, Disability, Cancer, Accidental)• Long Term Disability• Wellness Program • Discounted Gym membership-(YMCA) • Matching 401K*• Vacation and Sick Leave*• Matching 401K*• Management Bonuses**For qualifying positionsPosition Summary: Assists in the upkeep of the front end, while providing customer service to our customers.Job duties: - Greets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact, responds to requests for service and assistance in a timely manner, exceeding customer expectations- Assists customers by finding items and helping them to their car- Bags like groceries together while using the least possible number of bags- Checks for bottom of the basket - Retrieves shopping carts from parking lot and returns them to proper location for customer use and completes shopping cart retrieval log- Retrieves stray baskets and returns them to proper area for customer use- Upkeeps the cleanliness of carts and baskets by removing trash and discards appropriately- Pulls out items from shelves to front by arranging products to be at least two high and two deep (with the exception of top shelf)- Provides basic cleaning of store including spills, hourly checks of grocery floor to complete sweep & mop log- Returns stray items/returns to their proper area, while maintaining product freshness by returning all perishables and frozen items to their proper areas promptlyand removes damaged products from sales floor- Refills bag wells of front end, takes out trash, and sweeps up parking lot- Performs other related duties as needed as assigned by managerCapabilities:- Stand for long periods of time, very frequent walking back and forth to assist all registers- Frequent usage of arms and hands to bag groceries- Carry up to 40 pounds- Push and pull up to seven shopping carts, during their retrieval- Use proper safety procedures- Able to listen to directions and follow through independently- Good communication and observation skillsJob skills:- Previous experience working with the publicEnvironment:- Air condition while in store, subject to outside conditions of heat, rain, and wind while retrieving wagons/helping customers to their car, and chill temperatures if products need to be retrieved from chill- Very fast paced
