Our client is searching for a Craft Coordinator in the Houston, TX area. The Craft Coordinator will focus on managing and supporting craft (non-exempt) labor for the construction group. This role is critical to streamlining craft onboarding, compliance, and staffing processes to improve project timelines and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Craft Requisition & Recruiting:
- Manage craft requisition processes and lead recruiting efforts for skilled and general craft labor.
Onboarding & Orientation:
- Facilitate the onboarding process, including documentation, orientation, and timely integration of craft labor into project teams.
Wage Rates & Per Diem Management:
- Set craft wage rates, establish per diem guidelines, and validate eligibility.
Skill Level Tracking & Database Management:
- Record, monitor, and update craft skill levels, maintaining a performance tracking database.
Staffing Transitions:
- Oversee internal transfers of craft labor between projects, ensuring a smooth process.
Training Coordination:
- Coordinate craft training programs, including Operator Qualifications (OQs), NCCER certifications, equipment operator training, and physicals.
Craft Evaluations & Terminations:
- Conduct evaluations for craft workers and supervisors, manage termination documentation, and handle post-termination evaluations.
Craft Benefits & Compliance:
- Manage personnel files, enforce absentee and reprimand policies, oversee benefits administration, and ensure compliance with HR policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of Craft Coordinator experience in an industrial construction environment, with hands-on involvement in managing craft labor.
- Strong knowledge of labor compliance, onboarding processes, wage rates, and per diem management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual is a plus.
