What's your day like?
As a Crane Operator at Kinsley Steel, Inc., you will play a critical role in the loading and unloading of crane equipment from trailers, overseeing the setup and dismantling of cranes on site, and conducting thorough equipment inspections to guarantee safe operation. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining and cleaning crane mechanisms, monitoring and reporting maintenance hours, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and state laws. In this role, you will be expected to uphold the highest safety standards and follow proper work procedures diligently.
Additionally, you will be involved in rigging activities, assisting with iron work/labor tasks for large structures, and may also be required to fill in for truck driving duties when holding a CDL License.
Would you be a great CRANE OPERATOR?
To excel as a Crane Operator at Kinsley Steel, Inc., candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED. While secondary education is valued and may impact the pay scale, it is not mandatory. Preferred qualifications include two to four years of relevant experience, though this is not a strict requirement.
A current certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) and state licensing are necessary, with a Class A CDL being advantageous. Successful candidates must pass and maintain a DOT physical, exhibit punctuality, dependability, and teamwork, handle pressure effectively, and have or be willing to learn OSHA and MSHA safety regulations. The role demands multitasking abilities, strong communication skills, availability for weekend work during client shutdowns, and the capacity to work in varied outdoor conditions.
Math proficiency is also a key attribute for this position.
