A Crane Rigger Trainee is an inexperienced applicant who is responsible for learning and performing all tasks on a Crane. They will assist with inspections and configuring cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, and blocks according to weight and size of the load to be moved.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Align, level, and anchor machineAttach loads to rigging support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power toolsAttach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, booms, using bolts and clampsDismantle and store rigging equipment after useFabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gearManipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials, such as heavy equipmentSelect gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches according to load weights and sizesSignal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads in order to ensure safety of workers and materialsAttends and participates in safety meetingsTest rigging to ensure safety and reliabilityTilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and/or around obstaclesUnderstand and comply with company, customer, and health/safety policies, and any other regulations that are requiredReports any and all incidents immediatelyAble to work in all weather conditionsPerforms other duties as directed by managementRequired Skills:Must be able to work in a fast-paced environmentMust possess organization and problem-solving skillsMust be able to work with a teamMust be able to lift 100 lbs and handle physical demanding workMust be clean shavenMust be able to communicate using oral and basic written communicationMust pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in the random testing poolMust pass a background check and motor vehicle record checkArrange for reliable transportation to and from workQualifications:The requirements listed in this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required and must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Work Environment:This job operates in an outside environment.
