Job purposeCrane/Service Mechanics are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, etc.),), Must have experience as a mechanic with electrical and hydraulics (heavy equipment and cranes are preferred).Duties and responsibilities
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
- Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications
- Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
- Properly fills out working reports, hour's reports, timesheets, hour's overviews, work orders, and expense reports
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mobile and Crawler Crane Mechanic Operates and inspects cranes in order to diagnose defects.
- Knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON systems is preferred
- Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment preferred - specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Tadano.
- Reads and understands operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test
- Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
- Travel is required
- Field Service Experience preferred.
Working conditionsLifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity necessary. Ability to lift 70 lbs. Ability to operate a forklift safely. Must be able to pass a pre-employment WorkSTEPS physical. Requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen to the satisfaction of ML Crane Group. This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels. Must a possess a clean MVR & valid Driver's License This job requires the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification. Requires working and driving outdoors in various climates/temperatures and the possibility of sitting for an extended period.The employee may be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment. The employee could occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles.
