As a Safety Embark Intern the student will be exposed to various aspects of Risk & Safety, through the lens of a Safety Consultant. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.Responsibilities
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
- Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset
- Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments
- Participate in life skills development courses provided for Embark Interns
- Participate in Learning & Development apologetics training
- Serve in the attraction operation departments to display our SERVE core value
- Working with Management teams on job site safety planning, including but not limited to the following:
- Pre-construction safety meetings
- Contractor safety orientations
- Weekly site safety inspections
- Involvement in OSHA inspections and related follow-up
- Accident/incident investigation
- Research on safety topics
- Participate and/or Facilitate Safety Trainings
- Administrative functions including but not limited to:
- Completion of paperwork, associated with safety inspections, accident/incident follow-up, OSHA inspections, employee training, safety orientations
- Written communication for safety department members about new safety approaches and information compiled at seminars and education programs
- Conduct, as assigned, scheduled and unscheduled:
- Risk Assessments
- Safety Audits
- Root Cause Analysis
- Near Miss Investigations
- And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QualificationsRequirements
- Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
Education & Experience
- Must have a minimum of 45 College Credits
- Pursuing a degree in Risk Control or Safety Management (preferred)
- Interest in the Environmental Health and Safety field
- Enrollment in an Occupational Health & Safety related field (preferred)
- Previous OSHA, NFPA, EPA, ANSI related Knowledge (preferred)
