This individual is responsible for the design and development of digital components of the College's marketing efforts including the development of the website, digital advertising, email templates, digital signage, and social platforms. Duties & Responsibilities This position works closely with the College's Director of Marketing and College Relations to develop and deliver integrated digital media to enhance Rhodes State's reputation and to achieve enrollment goals. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
- Generate and share video content for use in promotional videos on social media platforms
- Provide technical and creative support for college digital boards, including videos
- Create and maintain a library of video clips for future use and coordinate footage sharing with other departments and possibly external media
- Provide support on updating and coordinating the College website and College digital signage.
- Produce appropriately branded college and departmental graphics
- Ensure web content is optimized for search engines, consistent with accessibility standards and links function properly (quality assurance}. Apply and analyze web metrics for measuring campaigns and programs.
- Ensure all web content utilizes best practices for web writing, aligns with Rhodes brand guidelines, and meets all content-related goals to improve website navigation, and function.
- Monitor website for out-of-date content and refresh as needed, including updating images, video embeds and written content.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and Public Relations and other colleagues in planning and implementing content layout solutions that improve user experience on the website.
- Assist with social media (including designing, content development, placement)
- Leverage the college's various communication platforms, including its social media assets, to post visuals that tell the Rhodes State story.
- Keep abreast of new and emerging media (traditional, social, and multi-media), publications, and web technologies.
- Assist with other marketing and communications projects.
- Participate in campus projects or on committees at the College that promote shared governance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent communication skills, including experience developing and promoting content for the web, social media, traditional news media, and print publications.
- Must have analytical and organizational skills; and advanced computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and experience using content management systems and social media account management.
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and members of the general community and news media.
- High degree of integrity; ability to problem solve, be a team player, think critically, be collaborative, and energetic, appreciate detail and accuracy.
- Ability to juggle multiple requests and projects simultaneously, while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; have the ability to develop, create, stage, and produce professional quality media and evaluate production effectiveness in meeting objectives.
Preferred:
- Ability to write and edit HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge and experience working in Google Analytics.
Education & Certifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
