Develop/implement daily therapty group programming for inpatient units that includes weekend coverage. Engage with patients to provide treatment & positive hospital experience.

• Provide a variety of therapy sessions that engages patients and provide positive therapeutic patient experience.
• Perform required daily group programming that meet the needs of inpatient psychiatric population on inpatient units. Perform required assessments & clinical documentation.
• Provide evening & weekend coverage for multiple units as required.
• Able to supervise students/designated staff. Maintain supplies & group room as needed for session according to regulation.
• Have a minimum of daily sessions which includes weekend & evening.
• Perform inpatient assessment/interview & provide input on treatment plans.
• Can attend treatment team meetings, grand rounds & participate in staff development.
• Performs related duties as assigned by director & designated staff.

Minimum QualificationsAssignment Level I 1. A valid License or Limited Permit issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist. Employees working with a Limited Permit must obtain Licensure within two years from their date of appointment. Assignment Level II 1. A valid License issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist; and 2. Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in creative arts therapy. Assignment Level III In addition to meeting the requirements for Assignment Levels II, Assignment Level III requires: 1. One additional year of experienceDepartment PreferencesExperience in inpatient psychiatry providing patient centered sessions. Able to conduct wellness sessions effectively with patients.
