Job Description:
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following essential functions are the fundamental job duties of the position to be completed with or without reasonable accommodation.•Program Development: Design and implement engaging and meaningful creative programs, workshops, and activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our residents in independent living, assisted living, and memory care settings.•Facilitation: Lead group activities such as art classes, music sessions, storytelling, and other creative endeavors that encourage participation and self-expression among residents.•Individual Engagement: Provide one-on-one support and creative experiences for residents, particularly those in memory care, to foster connection and cognitive engagement.•Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to integrate creative programming into the overall community experience calendar, ensuring a holistic approach to resident care and engagement.•Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess resident interests and needs to adapt programs accordingly and gather feedback to improve and enhance creative offerings.•Documentation: Maintain records of program attendance, resident engagement, and feedback to measure success and identify areas for improvement.•Community Involvement: Encourage family involvement in creative programs and maintain open communication with families regarding residents' participation and progress.•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Resident Experience.Minimum Qualifications•Previous experience as a facilitator, teacher, or in a similar role, it is not required to have previous work in a senior living setting.Expected Performance•Connect and help residents transition from home to community through thoughtful engagement at every level of interaction.•Breadth of Knowledge:Prescribe the mindset that art is in many forms and creative exploration looks different for each person who engages in art. Open to trying new things while generating an environment that inspires and sparks curiosity.•Interest in Older Adults: A passion for working with the older adult population and a strong understanding of their unique needs and interests.•Creative Mindset: Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in developing programs that engage and inspire residents.•Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, and manage time effectively.•Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents, families, and staff members.•Ability to work varied schedules to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
