SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:Undertake a professional internship designed to provide on-the-job training, experience, and mentorship to current college students. Administer assistance to credit analysis staff and lending officers of the bank by furnishing credit analysis and financial information evaluation services in support of the Commercial Lending Division of the bank. Engage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform at a professional level. This is a paid temporary position, not to exceed 3 months.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Support Credit Analysis staff in the preparation of accurate, comprehensive, and timely credit analysis and financial information evaluation services as required by policy to support loan production efforts of the Commercial Lending Division. Evaluate financial statements of businesses and individuals and various credit data to determine and document the degree of risk in lending funds. Carefully analyze all data to produce meaningful, clear, and objective reports. 2. Provide spreadsheet preparation services as requested by the Commercial Lending Division for existing and prospective commercial clients. Provide ongoing monitoring of financial covenants, including calculations, monitoring updates, and communication of compliance status. Complete review of real estate appraisals and evaluations accurately and on time as assigned. 3. Receive guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.4. Contribute to and participate in maintaining a consistent credit culture throughout the organization by promoting compliance with all credit policies and procedures.5. Periodically aid Department Management in coordinating preparation and distribution of loan packages for the Credit Policy, Credit and Board Discount Committees, and loan meetings of the Board of Directors.6. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing - perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound. Operating a motor vehicle and the ability to adapt to environmental weather conditions, as seasons change.Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 25 pounds and/or move up to 30 pounds. This work involves sitting most of the time with walking, driving, and sitting.Specific vision abilities required by this job include: 1) viewing a computer monitor; 2) extensive reading; 3) driving.TRAVEL:No travel is required, except for possible (training and seminars).
