DescriptionRobert Half is hiring a permanent credit relations specialist to join one of our clients firm's in Manhattan, NY. In this position, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with managing their debt obligations and improving their credit standing. You will work closely with clients, creditors, and internal teams to negotiate debt settlements, develop repayment plans, and provide ongoing support throughout the debt relief process.Responsibilities:+ Communicate with clients to assess their financial situation, understand their debt obligations, and identify viable debt relief options.+ Negotiate with creditors on behalf of clients to settle outstanding debts, reduce interest rates, and establish manageable repayment terms.+ Analyze credit reports, financial statements, and other relevant documents to evaluate clients' creditworthiness and develop personalized debt management strategies.+ Educate clients on their rights and responsibilities under consumer protection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).+ Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to review legal documents, draft settlement agreements, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.+ Monitor client accounts and provide ongoing support to ensure timely payments, resolve disputes, and address any issues that may arise during the debt relief process.+ Maintain accurate records of client communications, negotiations, and agreements in compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.+ Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in debt relief and credit management.Requirements+ Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.+ Minimum of 1 years of experience in credit counseling, debt settlement, or a related field, preferably in a legal or financial services setting.+ Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and advocate on behalf of clients.+ Knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations related to debt collection and credit reporting.+ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial data, assess credit risk, and develop effective debt management strategies.+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with credit management software is preferred.+ Certification as a Certified Credit Counselor (CCC) or similar credential is a plus.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
