Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Level: Hourly

Department: Finance

Reports to: Credit Supervisor

About the role:

The Credit Coordinator plays a key role in the finance department by assisting in processing new member applications, including facilitating credit reference checks on new applications. The Credit Coordinator is responsible for completing credit reference inquiries on current members as well as maintaining member files, handling member price changes, calculating credit insurance premiums, and maintaining all transactions related to members' outstanding notes. The Credit Coordinator will have the opportunity to pinpoint areas for improvement, implement efficient solutions, and automate processes, thereby optimizing performance and streamlining operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Completes credit references for members from vendors using Microsoft Word or Adobe Pro.

* Processes daily credit memos, investigating and routing to Accounts Payable (AP) as necessary.

* Answer telephone inquiries, providing clear and helpful information to members and internal teams; responding to all credit department voicemails.

* Prepares and sends documents to collection agencies or attorneys as assigned by the manager.

* Proactively informs the manager about the status of tasks and processes.

* Handles incoming faxes and credit memos efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.

* Prepares and sends necessary documents to attorneys or collection agencies for delinquent accounts.

* Provides support to Credit Administrators and the Credit Manager as needed, ensuring smooth departmental operations.

* Enters data into Google Sheets documents as directed by the manager.

* Performs other duties assigned by the manager, including divisional administrative tasks

Required Skills/Abilities:

* Electronic Organization: Demonstrates the ability to organize electronically by efficiently and accurately preparing, saving, and retrieving electronic documents. Envisions processes that utilize technology rather than manual labor and challenges existing manual processes.

Education and Experience:

Desired

* Associates degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, other related fields, or equivalent related job experience

Physical Requirements:

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
